I don't really think things have changed that much since the 90's. People have always collected for different reasons and different ways. I remember kids in my class who treated cards like a listing on the stock market, kids that collected RCs, kids that collected teams, etc. The hobby is always going to be what you make of it.

UGH! Now I have to re-work the budget for this and my regular boxes of BTP

I haven't bought any boxes from ITG yet this year (or any 12-13 product period) as I'm not into just the one or two team-based releases (and History is out of my budget!), but since I got back into hockey card collecting, ITG has been my favorite company and my favorite releases outside of BTP have been Decades 1980s, Captain-C and 1972 The Year In Hockey. My first box back in the game was 2006-07 UD Parkhurst because I love the classics and ITG specializes in making sure the past remains at the forefront -- Bob Sauve, Murray Bannerman, Rick Wamsley, etc.

This news just made my hockey card season

(time to get some tissue to wipe this stuff off my nose )

    Dr. Price,

I hope that when you eventually get that license, it will happen one day I hope, that you continue doing what you are doing as far as the themes and types of sets you are putting out. It is completely different than anything else on the marketplace in any sport and it's a breath of fresh air that the hobby needs. I hope the NHLPA comes to their senses and grants you guys the license. You did the right thing in holding out this season, good decision.

    Thanks.
