You guys want proof that the Religious right is blatantly trying to impose their beliefs both political and religious to our kids....well, here it is.

They are shameless in this regard, and this just shows how desperate they are in their attempts to save their dying agendas.

can't watch the video at work but would like to hear an argument for adding christian topics to public school texts... or any religious topics.

His view? How is past history somebody's view? You really need to explain that. They are events and people that happened and lived, not an ideology.

Jefferson Davis was a racist, how is it somebody else's view that lives in 2013?, when Davis was indeed a racist. If you are using Davis along side of Lincoln in history, be prepared not just to list his accomplishments, but also list what his behaviour did to almost destroy a nation.

actually that was a show on PBS...It was about the State of Texas School Board. The person in that video was defeated in in the last election cycle. However, Alex has made a valid point. The Extreme right wing is trying to shape the public school system in a another arm of the church in my opinion.

It's amazing how swift hing just a few key words makes this exactly the same as Christian conservatives whining about evolution being taught.

^I defend evolution because it's real science, that's the only reason.

If creationism had any proof whatsoever I might be inclined to hear it out, but we know it doesn't.

Furthermore, it's not science, it's religion.....the greeks have their version of creationism.....do you know what we call that? MYTHOLOGY!

I wouldn't advocate for atheism to be taught at schools either, but there is no debate among scientists on evolution.

My "opponents" are intellectually dishonest and try to manipulate kids.

Also, I shouldn't even have to "defend" evolution.....it's akin to defending gravity, atomic theory, heliocentrism, and physics.

My "opponents" have a specific political and religious agenda.....I do not.
