I'd be happy to get .05 a piece for my base cards. Some people are just greedy(and dumb). As a side note, I have O-Pee-Chee base for sale for .05 a piece :)

I do appreciate people asking who I am looking for. Nathan Gerbe/Wayne Simmonds and the big one is Martin St Louis. Don't need anymore OPC base, I already have 5000 haha

For me it depends on the context. If they're vintage OPC, for instance, I pay and expect a decent price. Maybe not book value but they have value in my book. If they're early 90s base I give them away for free to kids at Halloween. I gave a box of about 1000 away to Canadian Diabetes last month. I just want them gone. Also depends on what I'm trading for. If it's base then I'll go BV for BV. If it's GU or autos then I consider those in a different class and BV doesn't apply.

Most of my collection is base / inserts, and most of that came from the skid I bought years ago. Just about every base card I've gotten since then were gimmes that people threw in with the "good" cards I bought or from pack busts. The last show I went to tho, I got a 50+ base and a insert stack for $8, it was like opening a Wal-Mart fatpack and getting all PC cards!!!! This guy had 20 or more of each card, so yeah, there's enough of it out there that no one should be paying actual money. Which is kind of sad actually.

Those people that are making those offers are probably the same people with low feedback who constantly complain that they can't make any deals on here.

I was able to turn my base cards into some nice traders and PC. I was just fortunate enough to find someone that wanted a lot of base cards, and I had a lot of them!
Can see what I got here ( I was able to get a Sid auto for the equivelant of 7,000 base cards )

I guess it depends on the definition of base. Anything thats not a auto or GU i throw in boxes and call them all base. But when colin kaepernick got hot in the playoffs i took out 20 RC of his and sold them on ebay for over $225. Just junk is what i consider it, and it turns into a nice profit. So personally i consider anything non auto or GU to be base. I know thats not the real definition, but its just how i think of it. I also have multi serial numbered cards that just sit on my common base box because i really have no need for it. But i will pull things out when it is selling good. If i didnt i would have a ton of junk just laying around that i dont use.
