Ohio Sheriff Calls President Obama An Enemy - Won't Enforce Laws He Doesn't Like

The Constitution is the ultimate law of the land and Ohio state law upholds its citizens' right to bear arms. The sheriff wrote:

Any edict, regulation, or so-called 'federal law' which infringes on the right of the citizens of Hancock County, Ohio to keep and bear arms for their security will not be tolerated, recognized or enforced by me or my office.

Essentially he's saying that if the Federal Government passes an unconstitutional law that requires him to do something like confiscate weapons or ammunition from lawful citizens, he will not be a party to it. Good for him.

My question to him would be, why now? The Constitution has been getting abused for a long time? Where were you all the other times when the Federal Government wiped their butt with the Constitution and infringed upon the freedoms and liberties of Ohioans?

Good for him? Is he the Supreme Court? Why is it "good for him" to do their job. He should do his job and leave the question of "is this constitutional" up to the courts.

That is how the system is supposed to work, anyway. If you wonder why it doesn't, look no further than this idiot. I guess he's okay with all the citizens doing his job and taking the law into their own hands. Probably only as long as he still gets paid.

He works for the people of Ohio. The people of Ohio agreed to follow the Constitution which clearly delineates the limited powers of the Federal Government. Thus, if a power is not clearly defined for the Federal Government in the Constitution, then the power remains with the states (the people).

Why shouldn't the people push back against the Federal Government when they try and force unconstitutional laws upon them? You see the sheriff as the problem, while I see too many sheeps meekly following the Federal Government and allowing them to overstep their powers time and time again as the problem. We need more people like the Sheriff.

Officers of the law, yes. It's not an officer's job to decide what laws to uphold and which to not. That's supposed to be the job of the courts. No different than going out and killing someone who wronged you. You're not the police and he's not SCOTUS

So you think we should be arresting all the people breaking Federal Law in states that allow marijuana use? And you think we should be deporting all the illegal immigrants that are currently being allowed to stay in the U.S. if they are not considered a dangerous criminal?
