What is Special about Orlov???

I saw the following card listed:

The price is reasonable since I saw another one of these cards sell for about that price in an auction not too long ago.

Not being a Capitals fan, I never heard of this guy before.
Most other cards in this Freshman Signatures set sell for under $10.
What is making his cards sell for so much more than the others?

This is a strange one indeed. I looked through the history of "Dmitry Orlov Certified" sales and there's only the one other true RC card listed - the rest are just the insert set autographs. I know that a lot of people have found this set a challenge this year, but wow this is really something.

This card came from the Rookie Anthology. Panini did not distinguish between Freshman Signatures and Freshman Signatures SPs like they did with their Certified checklist. That being said, no print run is listed for this cards as they list for the Freshman Fabrics signatures.

Its just an asking price, doesn't mean it will sell for that price.

His Cup Golds were selling really well when The Cup came out as well, as with his other shortprinted rookie year cards; must be the influence of Russian buyers, playing for the Russian-friendly Caps doesn't hurt either.

Although he's been injured this year, he is probably the most promising Russian D since Markov broke in to the league (although Kulikov is very overlooked).

there are a couple Orlov hoarders out that with deep pockets....so I wouldn't be surprised if the seller knew about this
