Post Report: Steven Jackson to void deal & become a free agent

    http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/89...-void-contract

Steven Jackson's record-setting career with the St. Louis Rams could be coming to an end.

Jackson, the Rams' career rushing leader, plans to void the final year of his contract to become a free agent March 12, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Monday.

ackson is scheduled to earn $7 million in salary for the 2013 season. It's unclear whether the Rams would have kept Jackson on their roster at that price. The team drafted running backs Isaiah Pead and Daryl Richardson a year ago. Richardson in particular showed promise right away, rushing for 475 yards with a 4.8-yard average.

The Rams have initiated a youth movement under coach Jeff Fisher and general manager Les Snead. They have the NFL's youngest roster at present, according to Elias Sports Bureau.

I say he goes to the Giants, Falcons, or Broncos.

^ Hopefully the Falcons. It's looking like we're going to loose Turner.

Unless something has changed, the Falcons lacked the cap space just a few weeks ago to sign any free agents. They spent right up to the cap limit last year and came in this year like $1.3 mill under the expected cap. I read somewhere that if Turner leaves then they will have around $4.9 mill in cap space which still isn't enough for them to sign Jackson, keep key free agents like Sam Baker and still sign their draft picks.

He would be a dream for the Broncos. His power running style along with his receiving ability would be a difference maker for them. I also wouldn't be shocked to see him land in New England in hopes of getting a ring before he retires.
