alex, I wouldn't have asked in you were brainwashed into atheism, I just don't get the struggle. you believe what you believe and others will do the same. if people hate you for being an atheist, that hatred is on them.

I clearly pointed out that one if continued becomes the other.
You clearly ignored that because it doesn't agree with you.
I never once said they were the same thing.
You claim I did because you don't actually have anything to say.
But hey I'll take your word for it. I'm wrong because you said so citing irrelevant crap.

Fair enough.
The struggle exists because certain religious people can't help but impose their beliefs down my throat, and because of that, I can't stay quiet.
If we lived in an ideal society, all religious people would keep to themselves, all atheists would stay quiet, government would be 100% neutral, and these polarizing topics wouldn't be brought up as often.
However that is not the case.

i disagree, if we lived in a perfect society, the religious or non religious beliefs of others would not bother us. Religion can be a great thing and to wuiet it because of the few is not great

I did not ignore your statement that one becomes the other if continued. Please re-read my Tina Fey/Sarah Palin comment. That was a direct response to your progression claim. I also never stated that you said they were the same thing. Please point out where I did. My assertion that they are opposite makes no claim as to how you view them.
You really have to stop arguing with yourself. As amusing as it is, it completely derails the threads.

If you'd read my posts instead of ignoring, I wouldn't have to.
When did I say anything about wanting to be? I didn't you made it up. None of that has anything to do with wanting to become something. Simple that, through repetetive mockery you wind up emulating and becoming what you "hate". It is nothing like playing a character on a show, that is just STUPID.
If you want to reply to what I actually said, feel free. If you want to reference more SNL skits that have nothing to do with anything, maybe head to a schoolyard with the other kids.

First bold: wanting to be what???? I have no idea what this is asking/accusing me of.
Mockery is used to describe a derisive act of imitation. Emulation is used to describe an act of imitation to achieve the same success as the object of the emulation. The SNL skit, or any SNL skit is mockery. Fey could mock Palin for 10 years and she would not end up emulating her.

Alex I don't know you on a personal level but you seem like a good guy who is ginuinely interested in the betterment of society. That being said if you used to go to church, missed the fellowship but didn't like the sermon or preacher it seems like you want to be involved with something positive but don't know how to go about it. Why don't you devote the two hours every Sunday that you would have went to church to some type of volunteer organization. There are literally thousands. You can help in a homeless shelter, battered women, orphans, animals, war vets, tutor elementary kids the possibilities are endless. You can even volunteer at a gasp church on some of their non religious activities if you are comfortable in doing such. If you start volunteering and really emerse yourself in it you will be a blessing to others and will therefore be blessed.

So you don't even read your own posts then?
You said , "I didn't know Tina Fey WANTS to be Sarah Palin" and then told me to read it again.
And you example is stupid anyway. Fey is doing a job. These people are not.
