Desmond Howard at Michigan Alumni Banquet

I went to the University of Michigan Alumni banquet in St. Petersburg, Florida last Friday. Heisman Trophy winner and Superbowl MVP winner Desmond Howard was the keynote speaker. He was extremely nice and friendly, chatted with everybody, posed for pictures, and signed a lot of autographs. I had him sign a Michigan mini-helmet and two different Sports Illustrated magazines from when he was on the cover in 1991. Told some funny stories and answered questions on the topics of the Heisman Pose (game against Ohio State), being recruited, meeting with Bo Schembechler, his views on Denard Robinson and on Big Ten Expansion, working at ESPN, etc. What a classy and great guy!

He said that he has a huge learning curve, trying to possibly convert to receiver at this point, at the highest possible level. It would have been better if he tried to convert 2 years ago when he would have had two years to learn the new position.
