Question Players or sets that were once hot but now are not

Post any players or sets that were once hot and were what everyone wanted but are now either ice cold or sell for a fraction of what they once did.

    I'll start it off:

1994 Topps Traded #44T Ben Grieve RC

After winning the 1998 AL ROY this rookie card was selling for $25-$40. Does it even go for a buck now?

I know Barry Bonds RC use to be up there then dramatically dropped after the steroids.
Changing paths, no more set collecting. Just PC'ing Orioles Auto's and Patches.

Dwight Gooden '85 Donruss is one I remember. Hell, all his cards were hot.

The '88 Donruss Gregg Jefferies (or was it the '89) was really hot, too.

Not sure if anyone remembers 1991 UD Gary Scott RC.. He hit like .545 in spring and the card went nuts for about 2 weeks..

Brien Taylor, #1 overall pick by the Yankees in '91. He was the "next big thing"...and fizzled miserably after getting hurt in a bar fight. He's now serving time in prison on cocaine charges.

As of 3/16/13, no PWE's please. I use DC; so should you.

As a Tiger fan, I'd have to say it would be Armando Galarraga. He was an okay pitcher, but of course is famous for the Near No Hitter. I remember his cards were a hot commodity after that game a few years back, Now I think they're only worth maybe a buck if that.

I remember Eric Anthony and Todd Zeile(?) when they first came out in sets

Ouch talking bout falling hard. Had everything going for him but just couldn't get act together
I am an avid Atlanta Braves Auto collector. I am in the process of updating all my autos to a spreadsheet and organizing them. I am always looking for Atlanta Braves RCs Autos and also nice veteran autos.
