Maple Leafs playoff push led by budding Nazem Kadri

Nazem Kadri is not lacking for a sense of self, that’s for sure. Must have something to do with having all that talent. And if the young man is looking for even more reason to have an enhanced ego, here is another one. As the Toronto Maple Leafs continue their quest to make the playoffs for the first time in nine years, it’s Kadri who is leading the way.

I think the only thing funnier in the complete 180 Toronto writers have done towards Kadri (who they were calling a bust among other things after arriving to AHL camp in less then perfect shape) is that some are now saying that Kadri's play means they should trade Kessel, who appears to have some good chemistry with JVR... winning teams are built on multiple good players.

It's not like Pittsburgh is like, "Oh, we have Crosby, we need to move Malkin".

The Toronto media is a joke. They have ripped this kid apart since pretty much day 1. Now they wanna crown him the next Doug Gilmour. Glad I picked up a bunch of his rookies back when he was labeled a bust, hopefully he keeps a level head and continues his success.

Kadri has so much talent and he developed it in the AHL, that year down there last year was a good thing in the long haul, it was great for him to work with the staff and trainers for the Marlies.
He took the hi road and listened to all those who wrote him off and has come back this year on a mission.

    GO LEAFS GO!!!!!!

I'm glad this kid made it through all the bad press from the Toronto writers and fan's, just goes to show that you have to give kid's a chance. This from a Bruins fan. GO BRUINS GO.

I need to echo the sentiments of the Toronto media. I love guys like Nick Kypreos, Darren Dregger and Bob Mackenzie but a lot of the guys on the radio and in the print media I could do without with all of their bandwagon jumping and non objective reporting. Kadri is good and has matured beyond his years but that's more a testament to being giving a chance and Carlyle's coaching rather than anything else that has been mentioned.

Leading the Leaf's into the playoffs? Give me a break. I am a big a Leaf's fan as anyone else, but there's still over 20 games left and a lot of things can happen in 20 games especially since the Leaf's are known to tank at the end of seasons. My hope this year is that since the season is shorter that they don't have the games to tank like they normally would, but only time can tell.

I agree. I'm very satisfied with Kadri's great play. It was a smart decision to let him develop in the AHL before letting him be a Maple Leaf full-time. Go Leafs!
