That's a pretty weak "hate crime" but I think there's something far more urgent here
the 10 men convicted in beard- and hair-cutting attacks on
Okay, hair cutting attacks. That's already kind of funny, but when you add this to a story about haircut attacks:
the ringleader, Samuel Mullet Sr.
That's outright hilarity!

I am confused as to how you can commit a hate crime against your own people. Can you hate the Amish while being Amish? Isn't that contradictory?
I don't see this ending well. Once they are in the prison system and begin indoctrinating others we will see hard core Amish gangs spreading to every prison in America.
In all seriousness, 1-7 years and 15 years? That is just stupid. Many first time sex offenders walk with barely a slap on the wrist. Kill someone in a DUI wreck and you will often serve less than a year and rarely more than 5. In Ohio you can rape a girl under the age of 13 and you are charged with felony 1 which carries a MAXIMUM sentence of 10 years. These sentences are excessive.

"They all rejected plea deals that offered leniency, with some young mothers turning down possible chances for probation."
It costs the taxpayer $60,000 a year to feed & house an inmate, is that the correct number? For haircutting.............
