Help with 8x10's
Hey there guys,
I just have a quick question regarding 8x10's. Where do you guys get your photo's, I've seen some of you say that you print your own photos off with your own computer and printer, is their a tutorial video some where on this site? Or can I just send photo's to place like shoppers, or Walmart and just get them printed off their? If this was poster in the wrong area, I apologize.
Thanks

Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, etc. will print 8X10s if you open an account online and upload the photos. However, I have started to avoid those stores because I have heard that many of them are starting to get snippy about printing photos where they are unsure of the copyright holder. I've done some printing through Adoramapix.com, which is located in NY. They are generally quite reasonable for 8X10, 11X14 & 16X20. The photo stock they use is excellent and they have fast shipping. I've never tried printing at home. I've found printers of the quality you would want to print decent photos are just way too expense. Much more cost effective to do it through a photo processor.

I personally use bing or google and I print at home. 8x10s are figured @ a buck each if you use 4 star paper. If you do print at home, try to use a metallic pen because it is less likely to fade over time due to the acid in the paper.

Thanks guys, and just one other question, can I just pick any photo any size of the web, or do I have to pick specific sizes, I don't have any photo editing programs either.

If you want to make an 8x10, then you need a photo with at least 800 by 1000 pixels. Smaller than that will be poor quality, much higher than that will also be poor quality.
