You're not wrong at all. Hussein was the devil reincarnated basically and the people of Iraq didn't deserve that. The problem isn't that the US invaded Iraq, the problem was that the US thought Iraq would be easy and when they threw Hussein out of power they're was this "Well now what do we do?" feel to the whole situation. Going into Iraq was the right thing to do, but if there would have been a serious and well thought out plan from the get go it wouldn't have taken so long and cost so much money. You are absolutely right about how most people over in Iraq, my guess is about 90%, do appreciate the fact that the US got involved and support our troops over there.

I don't disagree at all. The plan was flawed to it's core. My .02 is it should have been handled by a black ops team much like the bin Laden situation was handled. A full scale invasion that was slow and plodding was the wrong way. After Hussein was ousted and the country was in control of coalition forces Marshall Law should have been declared. Nobody should have been on the streets after dark. Nobody should have been allowed to carry a firearm. That would have gone a long way towards squelching the resistance. The plan, on a whole, was flawed.

So how is it ok for the US to do that to another country and consider themselves "liberators" but if a country doesn't like our style of living or our gov't and attacks us they are called terrorists?

That's just it right there. The American Double Standard in full play.

Double standard? I don't lean one way or the other on this topic, but there's a MASSIVE difference between a situation where people that hate America hijack planes and run them into buildings compared to trying to achieve freedom (well, more freedom than they've had, at least) for another country.

Do I agree with the war in Iraq? Absolutely not, but I don't see a double standard at all.

No it is not. Who gave the US the authority to be judge, jury and executioner of the world? Why didn't that person or being inform the rest of us of the United States authority to do so? Just like Louis Farrakhan said these wars are nothing but racist wars against people of color that are advancing the cause of white supremacy.

If you can't separate the two examples I mentioned, there is no reason to continue further. Those two acts are not the same, at all.

They are exactly the same. In both cases the agressors consider themselves justified in their attacks. Take off your political blinders and see things for what they really are for a change.

Telling me to take off blinders is hilarious, but no, they aren't exactly the same, not at all.

I agree that Hussein and his sons should have been x'd out by a specialist team, however, the country should have been left to it's own conclusion following.

Not a word of his assassination, needed to be mentioned to the press...... none. If Bush was so intent on toppling him, take him out, then take the 5th.

Muscling into a country after a black ops job is not cool either, it just makes you Good Cop/Bad Cop. Surgical team, Mum's the word.
