The San Antonio Rampage's Andre Deveaux was struck in the face during a minor league hockey game between the affiliate teams of the Florida Panthers and Dallas Stars.

Deveaux crumpled to the ice, clutching his face. While still down, Deveaux's teammate, Nolan Yonkman, fell backward, stepping on Deveaux's face.

SB Nation's Brandon Worley watched the play live:

Deveaux lay on the ice, bleeding profusely from a gash on his head and left a long trail of blood across the ice as he was immediately taken to the locker room to be attended by arena medical staff.
According to the Rampage, Deveaux was released from the hospital Tuesday night after receiving 50 stitches.
