    Question Angels trading Vernon Wells to the Yankees?

    I wouldn't either, but why not try to get rid of some money for a guy who gets paid $42 MM for warming up the bench.

    Looks to be true.....here's some more details:

    Hearing #Yankees will pay almost all of $13M they r responsible to Wells in '13 so as not to put toward $189M payroll goal in '14

    #Yankees felt more comfortable paying big $ to Wells this yr because WBC insurance pays Teix while he is in Dl, which will be at least $7M

    Yankees must be getting desperate. I would think they could get better production from a replacement level AAAA type player than Wells and it would come at a fraction of the cost

    This is an udderly stupid and pointless move by the Yankees. Cashman's major pledge was that the team wanted to move in a younger, home grown direction. Where, at all, does this help the club? They really need to swap out some of the upper management.
