    Bouwmeester to St. Louis

The Calgary Flames continue to sell off high-end assets as the NHL Trade Deadline approaches.

Monday night, the club moved defenseman Jay Bouwmeester to the St. Louis Blues in exchange for St. Louis' 2013 first-round pick, minor-league defenseman Mark Cundari and goaltender Reto Berra, an unsigned draft choice playing in Switzerland.

Great addition for the Blues and their defence. However, I think Calgary got the short end of the deal by getting a 1st and 2 no-name prospects. I would have expected Calgary to get a decent prospect or two along with the 1st even with the Blues taking on 100% of Bouwmeester's salary.

Couldn't be happier about this trade.

Oilers getting back in the race for 8th, and St. Louis goes out and gets the most cursed player in NHL history. 750 NHL Regular Season games & counting...... without a playoff appearance from Jay-Bo. Here's hoping for 95 more :)
