Worst. Trade Deadline Day. Ever.
Really glad I didn't put in the request to take the day off work today. This is ridiculous.
To paraphrase Bob Cole, "Nothing is happening!"
Oh just as I type that I see that Philly has acquired Steve Mason for a draft pick. Yee-haw!Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

As a Ranger fan this is puzzling
ANALYSIS: Clowe has zero goals and the Rangers have the worst offense in the NHL. Clowe is slow and has battled injuries this season, too. But Clowe brings the size, grit and toughness the Rangers lost when they parted with guys like Brandon Prust and Mike Rupp. He has had a lot of bad luck offensively and has been playing better lately. The Sharks received a good return for a player who wasn’t contributing on an expiring contract. If the Rangers re-sign Clowe or make the Eastern Conference final, the conditional pick will be a second-rounder in 2014. If not, the pick becomes a fifth-rounder in 2014.NY RANGERS ACQUIRED

Remember when Derick Brassard was a candidate for the Calder? Seems so long ago. Good pickup for the Blue Jackets in Gaborik too.

Well the first 5 hours or so could have been cut. However, I'd say that overall it was a decent deadline with Gaborik, Pominville, and Forsberg all being traded. For most teams though it was quite uneventful.

Clowe is built for the playoffs. He's been one of the Sharks best forwards in the last 3-4 years in the Playoffs. Sure he's having an off season, but he is arguably one of the strongest power forwards in the West. The Rangers will be OK with him

Look at what Columbus gave up for a 13 year veteran in Gaborik, who has not had the best year. They get 4 younger players and the Jackets leading goal-scorer. I think the Rangers win this deal. Gaborik has slightly more goals than a Goon.

If Brassard gets a chance to play with the upper end talent he might actually produce. He needed a change of scenery and has never had anyone to play with in Ohio. 4 points in his first game isn't bad, but let's see if he can keep it up.
