Boston is caving before our eyes. Horton out with an undisclosed injury today. They cannot hit the net. I counted missing the net 8 times today by the Bruins with all the misses by forwards, not on the blue line but well inside.

    Boston is losing their mojo.

Here's hoping for TML/Habs meeting in the first round! I don't see Boston falling to 4th.... Maybe then there will be a Leafs/habs meeting you care about Richard haha.

Well the Islanders now have the same number of points as the Leafs. Personally, I would like to see the Leafs fall a spot. I would rather see a Leafs/Habs matchup in the third round than the first round.

I think everyone would love to see the Habs/Leafs in the later stages. If the Isles continue to play the way they are, we may see a dramatic shift in the order on the very last day of the season.

It all gets very interesting now.

So is Montreal it seems after last week's horrible games. Boston has been behind Montreal in points but seems they have always had a game in hand so I have thought all along that Boston will be on top by the end of next week and I stand by that thought haha. Horton isn't as big of a puzzle piece as he used to be. Losing their leading scorer (Marchand) and one of the best faceoff men in the league (Bergeron) was probably a big reason why they went on a little slide (if they even did?). With Bergeron/Marchand back I believe they should get back on track. Did Montreal have any injuries at all or was Price just TERRIBLE?

I don't see Toronto making it to the 3rd round haha....

The way Montreal has been playing lately...I don't see them making it to the third round either!
Also...Pittsburgh is looking so good. Even without their big guns. If they get Crosby, Malkin, and/or Neal back for the playoffs...I don't know who in the east will be able to beat them.

i for one am not surprised by the "true habs" that have finally been exposed. dont know how they managed to last this long. good thing its not a full schedule or Montreal would fall back to last place again. must admit tho as a leaf fan its great to see! hope they meet the leafs in the first round cause there aint no way they are going further. they are 4 and done baby....

Habs are just having a rough patch. I do believe they overachieved a bit, but I'll be surprised if they don't start playing better. Would live to see a Habs/Leafs series in the 1st round!

as a habs fan I am getting agitated as to how poorly the team has been playing and it wouldn't surprise me a bit if the team is the first one knocked out of the playoffs whether its vs the leafs or any other team in the east
when price struggles in net it has a profound impact on the team psyche and its showing right now, the team itself is playing poorly in front of him and under normal circumstances he holds its together but lately he's not on top of his game and the entire team is suspect and ripe for taking down quickly in the playoffs.
I hope the team proves me wrong I certainly don't want to meet the leafs in the first round but not so certain it really matters who they face
I guess will know whether this year's team overachieved or is a big facade in the next week or two

What's the old saying? A team is never as good as its hottest streak, and never as bad as its coldest. They definitely played over their heads early this year, but stockpiling those points when the games seem less urgent can pay off huge at the end of they year. They should have some home ice in the first round, hopefully they can pull out of this funk.

    Losing Emelin was catastrophic.
