I remember when the brady bill first came out there was an idea of instead of doing a 7 day waiting perior for backround check there would have been an instant computer check. That part of it was curiously shot down for some unknown reason.Drug and smoke free trading.

wickabee, something is better than nothing, how are you going to stop street deals?
I guess one way would be harsher penalties for criminals with guns, but that got voted down.

I was party to a street gun sale yesterday. 20 Gauge Shotgun. Money sat there on the table at the coffee shop for 30 minutes before pocketed.
Gun taken out, and shown 4 days ago at a parking metered spot on the town's main st. Gun taken out, and sold, one parking spot closer to the coffee shop yesterday.
This happens millions of time daily in the USA, and nobody blinks an eye. Street gun sales are as common as garage sales.

No denying, that is disturbing. I am not sure but I think that here in WV you have to be a licensed FFL to sell handguns at a show. They clearly don't have to be licensed to sell there or background checks would have been conducted.
