To email or not to email?
I have an email & 'normal' address for a couple of players. Do you think it's better to send an email asking for permission to send, or should I just send? Or maybe it doesn't make a difference?
Wanted your opinions.

I've done it a few times with people that I've never seen successes with. If they respond to you, at least you know they'll probably sign.

If they sign for most people, then just send it. If they don't sign much, then email first so you don't waste stamps and cards.

It would not hurt to email. You might even get a shocker if you add you address under your name and get a autograph sent to you without the snail mail request being sent. I have had some great luck with email in the past. My best was an email to Magic Johnson. He actually sent me a signed jersey! Yeah, I framed that baby up!

I'm surprised Magic responded given how much he charges to sign.

Yeah I was shocked as well. I sent email asking for an address that I might be able to mail a autograph request to him and he topped that!

Outside of coaches (well, secretaries), I've had Spink winners email me the mailing address of where to send a photo to get signed, especially since many of them have retired.

Oh, this is the worst. I've had this happen a couple times. People saying they will get my stuff signed for me. And I never see it again. I'd rather you ignore me instead.
