Gideon bibles are place in hotel rooms in the hope that they will be stolen by the troubled individual that picks one of them up. The program was actually designed for this reason.

It has never bothered me that the Gideons leave bibles in hotel rooms which are private businesses. What I have a problem with is state parks having bibles available but if a muslim group wanted to provide free Korans in state parks we all know that would never happen.Drug and smoke free trading.

Fair point, but that's not on Christians, that's on American culture.
On a side note, anyone here ever seen the Hitchcock movie version of Steinbeck's Life Boat? I watched it for the first time last night. Really interesting watch...
