Kane did nothing in 3 series, Sharp carried this team through 3 rounds.

I wouldn't say Kane did nothing in the earlier rounds, but I also thought Sharp or Crawford would have been better choices.

Kane started slowly but came on as the playoffs went deeper.
He had 19 points, most on the team which is usually were the trophy goes

I do think that Crawford was also in contention for it, keep his team alive in most games

    Agree with this ...

Also, Bettman didnt have the final say as to who gets the trophy .... im sure its down to a vote like any other award given out in the NHL

I think if a goalie was going to get it this year it should have been Rask not Crawford. I'm not saying that as a B's fan either ...I was cheering for Chicago. Kane played decent, but I dont think anybody carried the team through the entire playoffs. It was one of the best example of a team effort in a long time.

+1,000 This should have been Crawfords trophy in my opinion for sure. He was really good 99% of the time. He had 1 bad game and gave up 5 goals and they still won the game. In the end though. I'm sure he would rather have the other trophy!lol

Eleven people vote three each from the media of the competing cities and 5 at large. Kane is the big name choice. Another classic case of 'It is what it isn't " media trying to create the story than reporting on what it was......Sharp and Crawford just do not fit their storyline

I agree with the team effort part, it was the best in a while. I also think it should have been a goalie. However, the conn smythe should have went to Crawford. Their numbers were close, Rask 1.88 GAA 940 sv pct. Crawford 1.84 GAA 932 sv pct, and the deciding factor for me was that Crawford had 2 more wins. How the forth leading scorer in the playoffs got it ahead of arguably the best goalie is beyond me. In Kane's defence he is a clutch guy in big games. Crawford gets my vote tho
