Anyone practice and/or teach any martial arts?
I have been studying for 35+ years and teaching for 25 years.
Though I have studied numerous styles I mainly practice chinese external and internal arts.

I don't, but my fiance is a black belt. I forget how long he has practiced, but I know it's been at least ever since I met him (2004). This is where he has trained:

I don't have the discipline, but marvel at those that do. The only thing personal - I am a Wilderness guy, if there is a trail or a mountain or an immense cliff to jump off into water, then I am all over it.
I was raised a Team Sport guy in Hockey family of athletes, we all played daily, every season, we had Hockey Schools, NHL leagues, street leagues, and several other Hockey interests.
I was born to live outside full-time. I hate the indoors unless I'm in a Rink.

I haven't studied martial arts but wouldn't mind trying.

I've never studied it but I do have a heavy bag hanging in my garage that gets a good work out. Already have my 15 month old grandson throwing kicks and punches (not to everyone's liking btw) lol.

I have been studying since I was 19. Although i cannot attend classes now on a regular basis I still teach when I can. I have studied Judo, Jiu-jitsu, Savate, Uechi-Ryu. AS well trained with with several weapons. At one point I was able to maintain 3% body fat. But not today. I miss the flexibility I once had.

My son went as far a Blue Belt - Kempo. I could not get past the sheer numbers of boring, meat-head, Cop-acting fools that these Martial Arts attracts.
Sorry, I don't need a person who has not left their own county talking down to me like they are a COP.
The Master 9 Stripes Black Belt, walked around like sun shone out his Captain's Quarters. When I asked him his name, he insisted on me having to use the word "Master" in front of his Surname, I wouldn't do it. He finally relented and said his name was Robert or "Bob".
Everything went well the moment I called him "Bob"

cent, I could tell you some funny and scary stories about some so called masters and grandmasters, most often the ego has st in so deep they don't live in reality any longer, but not all are like that. Though I received my masters in 2000, I have never let my students call me anything but Jay, even my teacher goes by Joe and our "masters" class has several masters and 2 grandmasters, we all use our first name.
I don't think anyone should talk down to anyone, but I am unsure why they lose credibility if they have never lived in any other country.
