Panini America Unveils Double Rookie Class Logo in Advance of 2013 NHL Entry Draft

Panini America, the world’s largest sports and entertainment collectibles company and an official licensee of the NHL and NHLPA, unveiled today a special 2013-14 Double Rookie Class logo in advance of Sunday’s 2013 NHL Entry Draft.

The Panini Double Rookie Class logo will appear on all Panini 2013-14 NHL trading card product packaging, serve as a key identifier on Rookie Cards during the 2013-14 season and will be a vital part of Panini America’s marketing and promotional initiatives during the coming season. NHL fans can also follow all of the excitement of the Double Rookie Class on Twitter at #PaniniDoubleRookieClass.

Great idea for the logo on products, etc., but why on the cards? It'll just lead to confusion for the casual collector ("Dual Rookie class? So he has two RC's? Is this his regular RC? Does this mean his RC's are double-printed?", etc., etc). Also, the logo just makes the card way too cluttered. Maybe for the cards, would have been better to just include the RC logo shield on everything across the board. But whatever, doesn't matter it's done. Ain't no one changing nothin' now :-)

It's official.... Before a single 13-14 product has been released, im already sick and tiered of hearing about the 'double rc class'. I get it, there will be half a dozen potential Superstar rcs this year, instead of 2 or 3. I get that panini (and upper deck) want to promote the heck out of it, to recoup money they didn't make last year. The truth is it will add very little to the products, because outside of the few big names.... And mediocre rookie is still just a mediocre rookie.

And now panini is going to ugly up all their rcs with that logo? Making it tougher and tougher to buy their product.

Agree and agree again. Ugh! Talk about poor execution!
