    Bruins lock up bergeron with eight-year, $52m contract

    The Boston Bruins announced Friday that the club has signed forward Patrice Bergeronto an eight-year contract extension through the 2021-22 campaign worth an annual cap figure of $6.5 million.

    In 42 regular season games last season, Bergeron notched 10 goals and 22 assists for 32 points with a team leading plus-24 rating.

    It's not often you can say this about a guy with a cheque that large, but that's seriously a steal for Bergeron at $6.5M per season. Tremendously talented player.
