The 1991-92 Kraft Set of 88 cards he wants $600.00 OBO and it is easily obtained for $30-$40.00

4 red Wing glasses from Little Caesars - 1988 he is asking $575.00 OBO. These were everywhere around Detroit, and can be had for $5.00-$10.00 each.

He has the Pierre Pilote coin at $600.00 as well, and there have been several sold on eBay since 2000 for $15.00-$20.00. Hell he even has a Shirrif Jim McKenny coin at over $500.00. Sorry, but so many of those are common.

I have a Davie Keon Coin from 1967 that is in better shape than all of those, I will be lucky to see $25.00.

That Larry Jeffrey version is a very tough short print. You would be hard pressed to find more than a handful of sales period much less at your usual great estimate of $3-12. The Pilote and McKenny versions are also tough and you wouldn't find "several" sold on ebay since 2000 much less at $15-20. Also to be considered is the condition, most of what he has collected are premium examples. As for your Davie Keon coin...they didn't even produce Shirriff coins in 1967 so how about just stop tossing random numbers around all the time.

A Larry Jeffrey SP sold for $399.99 in August.

Simgin sold a Ron Stewart SP for $300.00 a couple weeks ago.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-69-Shirriff-Coins-108-Ron-Stewart-New-York-/400252209012

A Howie Young SP sold at Classic Auctions for $1,242.00 plus a 19.5% buyer's premium.

A complete set of 176 including all SPs sold in late 2012 at Classic Auctions for $5,570.00 plus a 19.5% buyers premium.

Even the more "common" SPs sell for $60+.

Is he asking a premium for them, sure, but as dahabsfan said, his stuff is generally the best of the best and very hard to find. If you can find any of the SPs in the set for $12 a piece, I'd stock up if I were you.

Some collector pay and often overpay for the best of the best. He is one of them and for having such top position on his PSA pre war cards, you can bet that he his one of those who make the price of mint condition item go up. So basically he is not playing in the same field as the average collector is and probably know his market niche so much better then we know it. Remember, it take only one buyer to make a sale.
