    Your Canadian Olympic team?

Okay, who are your 14 forwards, 8 d-men and 3 goalies? Curious what everyone thinks...

    These are my only certainties:

    Crosby
    Toews
    Keith
    St. Louis
    Stamkos (if ready)
    Getzlaf
    Perry
    Tavares
    Weber
    Doughty

I cannot even begin to get into a goalie debate, I have not even seen every goaltender play. If Marty St.Louis does not make this team because of somebody like Kunitz or Lucic, I will be visibly upset.

I like Oilfans forwards, Pens, Ducks and Toews duo's together, proven chemistry and No time to create any in a short tourny, plus all are playing great right now....was thinking either Giroux or St.Lou on the 1st line as both have very high hockey IQ's and could adapt easily to Crosby. St.Louis, his age is irrelevant, seems to age like fine wine, great passer, skater, makes other players better and the big ice suits his style.
Duchene is now a superstar, and his speed is key...Bergeron is all round great and puck possession is key ( face-offs)
I might switch Benn and Giroux as Toew's really benefits from having some size on his line, and Giroux is great at the puck possession game with Bergy, and Duchene, the 3 would be awesome all way round.

I would put Seguin instead of Neal, at center he is a world class player and his speed is insane....he could replace either Duchene or Bergy if one was injured....

as for goalies...meh, none of them inspire great confidence.

I think the goalies are fairly obvious: Luongo & Price will be the top two. 3rd doesn't really matter, but I'd guess Crawford.

I think the defense is also pretty easy: Keith / Seabrook both go, along with Doughty, Subban, Weber, and Peiterangelo. If you're going to take 8.... Bouwmeester would be next guy, followed by Boyle (though I would have thought it was only 1 extra??)

Forwards, I think it's less obvious, but I'd build my team around a couple of pairs:

    Crosby / Kunitz
    Getzlaf / Perry

After those 4: Bergeron, Toews, Tavares are the other automatics for me. If Stamkos is healthy I take both him and St. Louis. If he's not ready to go, St. Louis loses his spot too. If he's in:

    Crosby / Kunitz / Giroux
    Getzlaf / Perry / Tavares
Stamkos / St. Louis / Bergeron
    Towes / Sharp / Duchene

Extras? Doesn't matter. If Stamkos can't go..... I replace Stamkos & St. Louis with Thornton & Marleau.

Lucic should be no where near this team, same with Rick Nash (most overrated player in the entire league). At the begining of the year I was optimistic that Hall and/or Eberle would have a shot at it - there is zero chance they should even be in the conversation at this point. James Neal wouldn't be a bad pick (roll him out with Crosby / Kunitz??). Probably forgetting someone else.

Anyway, I would place a strong emphasis on bringing along pairs. If you do that - the chemistry thing isn't as big of a concern.

What about Smith in nets..not #1, but maybe as high as #2...Some players seem sure things. Weber,

    Stamkos (if ready)
    Crosby
    Tavares
    Toews
    Getzlaf
    Thornton
    Perry
    Giroux
    St. Louis
    Duchene
    Hall

would like to have seen Duchene get a sport..he is putting on a good show this year..I guess without knowing what system they are planning it's tough for us on the outside to know who to pick..so much talent to chose from...Whoever they pick, I sure hope that they put in a solid effort and give it their best...after all, that's all we can really ask.
