    Reasonable time for delivery?

In your opinion, what is a acceptable time for domestic (US to US) or (Can to Can) delivery of a card? If the recipient complained after 4 - 5 days would that be reasonable?

I'd say 7-10 days, sometimes depending on the circumstances 10-14 is certainly not out of the question.

I dont think thats reasonable. I know I personally cant make it to the PO every day so, depending on when a trade gets confirmed by both sides, it cam take a couple days to get it out. Once it does go out it typically takes 3-5 days depending on where its going. I think people should wait until about 8-10 days before asking for an update

You're right, it really only takes 3-5 days to have something delivered in the States but theres always circumstances where someone cant ship the next day and they have 3 days to ship after a deal is confirmed and for all you know the package can take longer in transit by the usps for reasons out of that persons hands, i guess i also prefer giving people the benefit of the doubt and have more patience than some when waiting on packages.

I only care if I get it or not.

Once it is in the postal system with a reasonable amount of time 3-4 days it is out of the hands of the trader. I waited for a card for 3 weeks until the traders told me that all his mail was returned to him and he was resending.

I always do my mailings at the same postal outlet for the following reasons

    1) I know my packages enter the system that day
    2) They have proper postage
    3) Established relationship with the owner results in lowest prices possible

10-14 days would be the normal wait period, sometime faster but if you confirm a deal say on thur night and put into mail on fri it would only go to depot and then sit until mon morning before be processed and then on its way.

So lets say from toronto to BC, I would think 10-14 would be good but it might get there in 10 days.
Its all out of our hands once the postal people get it and then you at the mercy of the postal gods.

I am in Eastern Canada and for both US and Western Canada mail I always wait the full two weeks before asking the other member if perhaps they forgot to send.
The want list at this link features what I need of Gretzky, Roy, Ottawa Senators, and Miscellaneous sets. I also have a CFL want list on my page and if you have nothing from it I will consider other traders of current Ottawa Senators,Guy Lafleur, + trade bait.

If you can't wait two weeks to get your card in the mail, you should reconsider the whole buying online thing.

It is not reasonable to expect that all traders / sellers can get to the post office every day.

It is not reasonable to expect that service is going to take less than a week all the time.

Unless there's express or guaranteed service paid for, then I would wait a month before making any sort of inquiry about it. I wouldn't make a complaint unless the discussion following that month turned negative. Stuff can be delayed and/or lost, give the other party a chance to do something before getting mad, people lost it way to easily and fast these days.

Sending mail in Canada and depending on it to arrive in a reasonable amount of time is like planning your retirement by winning the lottery. I have sent packages across Canada and some arrive in 4 or 5 days and some take 2 months. I have mailed packages within the same province and some have taken 2 months to be received.

I work part time delivering mail to the super boxes. Prior to going out the mail needs to be sorted. I have seen on numerous occasions mail that originates from New Brunswick, going to say Ontario, arriving for sorting at the Post Office here in Alberta.

As stated above, once the mail is in the system you are at the mercy of the Postal system.
