Hi Team!

I need your opinions. I've been waiting a year now for a redemption card and don't know if I want to risk the wait any longer. The card is 11/12 The Cup Dual Shield Auto of Dustin Byfuglien\Evander Kane 1/1.

I've been told for months now that they are only waiting on Evander Kane to sign, even though his cards were live in 11/12 The Cup and subsequent releases since then. I don't know if I'm buying that story. With the off season approaching, should I give it another month, maybe with he spare time, Kane will sign, if that is truly what the delay is.

My suspicions for the delay is, Upper Deck doesn't have the available "Game Used" shield's for the cards. They would need two of them, 1 from Byfuglien and 1 form Kane. We all know, the Jet's organization wants a ridiculous amount of money for their gamers and I suspect Upper Deck isn't willing to put the money out.

I'm concerned because of the ongoing rumors about trading Kane, the moment either player or both are traded, the secondary market value of the card will tank. I'm thinking I'd be better off taking the gamble and ask for a replacement before that happens.

I'd go for the replacement. It's been nearly two years, there's a lot of factors against it getting made, etc. Call them and be prepared with a list of acceptable replacements.

You nailed all of the details in your first post. They ran out of Thrashers pre-season shirts I guess.

On the downside - too bad for the hardcore player/set collector- the card will likely never be released then.
I personally always hate when checklists become inaccurate after the fact but that´s just my autistic me. :D

thanks guys, yes I've gone ahead and asked for a replacement, very disappointing but I feel it's the best decision.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the assault charge is for a monetary claim (assuming that's what you are referencing). I think the defendant is just after money. Also, he isn't facing criminal charges as of yet. According to CBC.ca anyway.

Anywho, I agree, go for a replacement. I think you will be waiting a long time for that card, even if it's ever made.
