Rich,
I love that term. "release date subject to change." That's a legal term that means "We goofed...suck it up and wait".
Usually the delays are related to things like players not signing and such. Why don't they just get them to sign a little bit earlier?

they need to make the rookies autos numbered to /500 instead of /999.

I would keep it at /999. As the old saying goes "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"

/500 would be more collectible in this day of age with all of the short print cards.

But by doing that, you turn the hobby into a rich person's pastime. If all rookies were limited to 500, values would be higher and that wouldn't be good for the hobby. I personally cannot afford products like The Cup. That's why I stick to mid-range cards like SP Authentic.
I agree with pur3strpker0, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.Last edited by Leafsman; 04-15-2014 at 02:01 PM.

There is a lot of tradition in this hobby that trumps common sense, Panini's version, Calder Contenders is #/800 but resale is half the price or less. U.D has built a strong brand and history with SPA so they would be silly to change it.

Panini has a very low resale value on the secondary market. Collectors respect UD and know they have been in the game for many years. Plus their designs and product is better. I think /650 or even /699 would make it better. /999 is too high imo for this day of age of SP cards

I don't know. 500 is not even that low. Just more collectible because everything is printed low nowadays
