The question should I return the patch because there seems to be a lot of chipping on the bottom edge, not the first time it happens with panini

Why not? I've probably bought 10 boxes of this stuff and have sent 5 of the cards for replacement. They were all rookie prime or patch cards. The only exception was a Platinum blue rookie jersey auto.
