I wouldn't write them off so quickly. I don't doubt the Bruins will likely take the series, but I don't think that Detroit is gonna just lay down and die either. Look at what they did to Chicago last year.
My prediction: Boston in 7

Boston in 5. Howard simply isn't good enough.

I passed by a Red Wings fan this morning - I wished him well. But I don't think it will do much good. Bruins just have too much overwhelming firepower. One needs a psychological advantage to beat them, and I don't think the Wings have that.

Last year I seem to remember beating a heavily favored Ducks team in round 1, and taking the eventual Cup Champion Blackhawks to a game 7. Now add in several kids who have been playing lights out the last 2 months and are trying to make a name for themselves to make the line-up next year I think the Wings are going to be hungry and can give the Bruins a run for their money. We beat them 3 games to 1 in the regular season including a game a mere two weeks ago so we know we can beat them, just depends on which team wants it more.
With that said, Wings in 6

I hope you're right, Matt!! I feel like the Red Wings are just too unpredictable in the playoffs to call the series.
Also, I freakin' love that GIF...hilarious!!!Last edited by Yzerfan; 04-16-2014 at 04:21 PM.

The Red Wings have a young exciting team that has learned to work really hard the last 3 weeks of the season, however the Goaltending has not kept up with them.
When Monster played, he didn't give me anything to look forward to, and Howard has been seemingly lost for the last 2/3rds of the year.
