2011-2012 The Cup RPA Question
Hey guys, I'm not much into hockey (cards, i LOVE the sport) and I spur-of-the-moment, dropped 100 bucks on an 11-12 4 player draft break. I was wanting to break something high end baseball but no one was feeling any group breaks for NT or the sort.
Got the second draft pick, obviously was pulling for the first pick. The guy who picked first got a Landeskog/Nugent-Hopkins Dual auto, the lucky .
I was up second and chose the Rookie Patch Auto of Ben Scrivens GOLD /30, a fairly decent second pick IMO.
This is what my card looks like, but isn't my exact card, I took this from eBay.

A few questions for you hockey guys. Do you think Scrivner can bounce back from a subpar year in net? I know it's the oilers so some of his numbers are grossly inflated. Also, I'm pretty sure it was just a one color white patch. Why would the put a plain white piece of jersey on a gold parallel?Last edited by RGM81; 04-23-2014 at 05:32 PM. scrivens is still young so I would look for a bounce back.

Unless and until the Oilers invest in getting some actual defence, they could put an actual brick wall in goal and it would have a SV% around .900 at best. He's not part of the problem himself, and even though he's on his third team in less than a calendar year should be a pretty good goalie in their system.
As for plain patches, it happens. I've seen a Patrick Kane 1/1 that has multiple patch windows and a couple of them are all-white. It's just the way she goes.Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...
