    Bakersfield Blaze.

Here is what I have gotten signed from my hometown team so far.

Drew Jackson, he is a real nice guy.

Andrew Moore, he was pitching great and has already been moved up to double-A.

    2 8x10's of Grant Holmes

Grant Homes was the starting pitcher in this game, and this is a ball he used that was tossed to me after an inning.

5/27/16 Bakersfield Blaze vs. Inland Empire 66'ers.

    Here is how I did.

    Jeremy Rhoades / Alex Klonowski
This card is an uncorrected error as the photo is really of Klonowski.
Rhoades only signs the back of this card and Klonowski the front.
    Kind of interesting.
Luckily both of them are on this team.

Fresno Grizzlies vs. Colorado Springs Sky Sox
Visalia Rawhide vs. Rancho Cucamonga Quakes

I decided to take my first trip to the Grizzly's stadium in Fresno.
I was able to get the Sky Sox players I was looking for.

    Orlando Arcia

    Jorge Lopez

    Will Middlebrooks and Garin Cecchini

On my way home I stopped in Visalia and caught the end of their game.
It was my first time at this stadium in about 20 years... it looks so tiny when you are inside.

    Domingo Leyba

    Grant Holmes
I had forgotten about the card already signed by Sean Newcomb when Holmes came to town earlier... Glad to have it complete now.

6/10/16 - Bakersfield Blaze vs Stockton Ports

    Richie Martin
Even though there were only 2 people looking to get autographs at this game Martin would only sign 1 per. This makes him the toughest guy to get in the Cal League this season. I heard he signed zero the night before.

James Harris, just named an all-star

6/14/16 Bakersfield Blaze vs. Visalia Rawhide

Yes, I have been slacking on posting for a while... Time to fix that.

Shelby Miller made a rehab start for the Rawhide today and helped them clinch the first half title.

Nice guy who signed everything after he left the game.

Another nice bonus... On hand to watch Miller pitch was Diamondback's GM ave Stewart. I had no idea he would be there, but was given a couple cards of his by one of our nice Bakersfield graphers.

    Dawel Lugo & Marty Herum

6/21/16 California vs. Carolina League All-Star Game

Took the trip mid-week to see the game and it was one long day. Left work early, drove down, stayed until the players left, got home at 2:30 am, up for work at 6 am.
Sadly, the 2 players I had the most stuff for (Yoan Moncada & Sam Coonrod) got moved up prior to the game and were not there. Last year in Rancho Cucamonga it was easier to get through all of the different autograph lines, and the players were accessible for 40 minutes. In Lake Elsinore this year the lines were longer and you were given 30 minutes per league. It took almost the entire 30 minutes to get though the line for Ian Happ's table and then again for Chris Shaw's table. I can only imagine how crazy it would've been there had Moncada actually showed up. Luckily my wife came with me and was happy to help me pre-game. We prioritized by players we would probably never see again. Here is how we did.

    All-Star game card set autographs.
It seemed strange that an uncut sheet of the card set cost $10, but the card set cost $20, but whatever.
Didn't complete it as I had other stuff to get signed, but did pretty well. I can finish a lot of the Cal League cards that we missed later.
    Lugo, Shaw, Hinojosa, Martinez

    Demeritte, Trevino, Sopko, Sborz

    Arakawa, Stinnett, Happ, Hedges

    Allen, Chang, Bradley

    Dubon, Ward,Brinley

    Other Stuff

    Ian Happ & Mauricio Dubon

    2 8x10's of Happ

    Bobby Bradley

    Justus Sheffield

    Jake Stinnett

    Drew Ward

    Andrew Stevenson & Trevor Clifton

    Chris Shaw

    Travis Demeritte

    Signed Balls
I did not decide to work on a ball for each league until late as this place was a mad house and just getting all the cards we had signed was tough.

Carolina League, all from post-game (Andrew Stevenson inscribed "MVP" upon request). Missed a lot of players.

Cal League Ball - Still a work in progress. Castellani and Carrizales were added after the all-star game when they came to Bakersfield, and I'll add some more as I see them.

Final thoughts: Had a great time. Was nice to be in the shade most of the time after being in the sun last year in Rancho. I ended up with a card or 2 unsigned of a probably 15 players. We only got through 2 lines in 30 minutes for each league, that could've been managed a whole lot better. It was easier to get signatures after the 30 minutes was up and the players left their tables.

Hey great job on all the all star stuff you got done, I was able to get 32 cards out of the set done, that happ line was long but since I came with two others who waited in that line I was able to go through all the other lines on that side and still got back in time to get happ, probably will try to get a few more of the cards done as players come into Rancho!!!

Good job on the set cards. It was nice to see that they even had late additions like Happ in the set this year. Yes, that Happ line was crazy. It was where I ended up first and it nearly took the entire 30 minutes. Barely had time to sneak into the Bradley/Sheffield line as they were closing it down.
