MacKinnon UD young guns (pink arm)

Hi, I recently puchased a MacKinnon Young Guns graded 9.5 by ACA (pic below).

I just found it curious that it got this grade after noticing it had the pink arm "defect", which I tought was supposed to de-value the card if anything. How is this possible?

I think the fact that it's graded by 'ACA' is probably your answer...if buying graded cards it's best to stick with bgs, psa and scg (vintage)

I agree with the above post. It's most likely due to the company that graded it.
Please check my inventory before my photobucket!!! It's more up to date!!!

It's a defect in the printing process, not the condition of the card. About 50% of them (what I remember hearing) are printed this way.

While I would suspect the ones without the pink arm would command a premium, because they look nicer, that doesn't strike me as something that should lower the grade.

I thought that originally BGS said they would automatically drop two whole numbers for the pink arm (which is why I didn't bother to get my Exclusives graded) - was this incorrect and/or has that changed?

I don't recall hearing this.... and a quick search on eBay only shows one BGS graded Mackinnon.... at a 7.5..... which would make me believe what you're saying is correct.

Still doesn't make much sense to me, the card's condition is fine, but if that's what Beckett said they would do, must be doing it.

No, that would cost them thousands of dollars, and also flood the market. They are not replacing them, because they do no know who owns them in the first place.

UD does not care about the error.
