The NHL Free Agent Frenzy – Leg 10 In Pursuit of Patrick!

Welcome everybody to the final leg of our season-long contest In Pursuit of Patrick Roy! How fitting that the Jack Adams Trophy winner as NHL Coach of the Year stands as our big prize for this fantastic contest. Thank you to everybody that has participated in this, we hope you have enjoyed it! In case you've somehow forgotten, here's the prize in question:

For your final challenge to win a Patrick Roy Between The Pipes Patch card #’ to just 3 copies, you will successfully predict the 2014-15 hockey homes for a star roster worth of NHL free agents. We have compiled a list of 22 players – 7 restricted free agents and 15 unrestricted free agents – and it will be up to you to correctly guess where they will sign, for how many years, and for how much per season.

As long as you give me the names, team, and term in an easy-to-read fashion, I’m good with that.

Scoring
For each player there are three key aspects of a prediction. For each correct aspect (i.e. term) guessed, you will receive a point. When it comes to the AAV of the contract, if you are within $250K of the actual salary you will receive half a point; if you correctly guess it, of course you will receive the full point.

The participant with the most points at the conclusion of the Free Agent Frenzy will be declared the winner and will receive a prize pack of cards of some of the players in this contest leg!

All points will be transferred on a 1:1 basis to your overall point totals for the In Pursuit of Patrick contest. This is the final challenge so good luck to everybody!

Rules and Such...

Deadline for entry is July 1st at 9am EDT. Entries will not be accepted if reached after this time.

Any free agents signed prior to July 1st at 9am EDT will be taken off the board and any entries submitted will not be counted for that player.

The contest will run until July 31^st or until all free agents have signed a new contract, whichever comes first.

One entry per member. Multiple entries will be disqualified.

All SCF members will be eligible to participate in this leg of the In Pursuit of Patrick Contest.

Members must be in good standing to be eligible to win the Playoffs Bracket Challenge, meaning:
- No serious infractions during the past 30 days: a serious infraction is any infraction worth over 3 points – any serious infractions will result in disqualification from the contest.
- No suspensions: if you have been suspended from SCF for rule violations during the past 30 days, you are disqualified from participating.
- No negative feedback for the past 30 days prior to the beginning of the contest - any negative feedback received will be investigated by the SCF Dispute Team.

Crazy day of action yesterday! After 24 hours, all but two of the UFA's (Heatley and Brodeur) have found new homes. I won't give away the scores, but one person guessed EXACTLY where Niskanen would go and that is the difference-maker. Much more to come!

Two of the RFA's have re-signed with their current teams.

Many arbitration hearings in the next week. PK Subban's hearing is on 8/1 so if he doesn't sign beforehand and the case does go to arbitration, that awarded amount will be used for scoring on his line. Yes, that means a one-day extension of the deadline.

Schultz and Johansen have not, and since neither has arbitration it could take the remainder of the summer.

The Subban verdict will be rendered by Sunday. Once that is done, it will be tabulated and the contest leg will be closed.
