    Pretty crazy that Vanek only got 3 years, $6.5M AAV. He turned down $50M from the Islanders during the season. The playoffs performance really hurt his standing.

    Well there's that, but I would suspect that before the playoffs someone out there would have gone pretty close to max term for $7M+. I mean seriously, one idiot out there gave Benoit Pouliot 5 years and $20M.

    And is pretty slow and dirty. Forwards will be licking their chops when playing Caps now. They will go around Orprik like a hoop on a barrel. I hope he finally gets suspended for the way he plays. He has no idea what it's like to get shelled, because he's been on a strong team his whole career. Not anymore. He will be overwhelmed.
