Thoughts on Contenders "rack" box?
Local Target has small boxes of Panini Contenders on sale with 20 cards per box. The box guarantees two autographs per box.
Is there any chance of getting decent cards out of these boxes, or is this similar top the Score Traded set which also offered two autos.Hidden Content

the auto checklist for retail is different than hobby and it is pretty terrible. I think the biggest name rookie auto is Filip FOrsberg and the best NHL inks is Briere.
All of the retail autos are stickers also, and there are no inserts at all. You will literally get 2 Sticker autos and base. No chance for anything else.

I think there's redemptions for some hard-signed autos but everything live in the blasters are stickers, and yeah the checklist looks like they shaved the bottom tier off the hobby list and dumped them into retail. Still, there are plenty of $24 blasters that don't give you squat so there's something to be said for one that guarantees you two autos. It comes down to your perception of "value", either you look at the money you make back on resale or you look at the fact a blaster is guaranteeing you not one but TWO autographs. To a kid spending his allowance and doesn't care who he pulls that looks incredibly attractive, to a hobby vet like most of us I'd say they're not worth it unless you have an itch to scratch and like the idea of going to Walmart and walking out with a couple of autos.

I've bought 3, and you can get NHL Ink and RC Auto that are SP or SSP (just one actually). They're not broken too much I think so the re-sale or trading value I think will be good because I guess some people will build the set.

I would stray from this stuff. It is just another sticker dump from Panini.

Great Value from Panini. I've broken lots of UD blasters and got diddly squat! The one Blaster I broke so far got me a Andrew Shaw NHL Ink and a Rikard Rakell Rookie Ticket Auto.

If you're putting the set together you're gonna be reaching out to retail and crossing fingers that others do too. Not a bad deal, even if the names aren't the greatest - you're still getting 8 autos for $100 (@ $25 per box) and that can go a good way in a set.
Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

For me the thrill of opening a box is the potential (however small it may be) of landing something big. In this case, when I know all of the possible autos that I can pull, and none of them are stellar, the appeal isn't there.

I broke one and got a SP sticker Rookie Ticket and and a sticker NHL Ink. For the price, I thought it was a fun product.

Value is fine, just wish you could pull something from any of the guys advertised on the front of the box.
