I didn't even know Panini HAD a rewards program because I don't buy anything but hockey cards. Sounds kinda stupid that they would have a program like that and only support it in some of their products. Guess they had no trouble selling hockey cards, I guess.
If anyone sees Hertl or Backstrom anywhere, let me know...

There is already a thread about this. To sum things up, all of these 1/1 cards were available exclusively on Panini Website and could be purchased exclusively using Panini Reward points or whatever they're called. How do you get these points? I'm not too sure about that... it seems thought that us hockey collectors never received Panini Reward Points. Maybe they were only available when purchasing other sports cards. Likely from purchasing boxes/cases but I don't know much more than that. I never bothered to look it up because I'm too disgusted by the whole thing.
I think one person purchased 57+ of these cards and another purchased 51 of these all in one go. I have only come across a single 1/1 on the secondary market.Master List: Hidden Content

Money. I don't know how regularly the cards are distributed in football/basketball products, but obviously the guys that have cornered the market have opened a ton of product to get those points--or have access to people who do that are just handing over the tickets to them.
Some of those 1/1's can be had for fairly cheap on the points scale - there's an Andrei Markov for 250 I think. But still, that's a lot of redemption points being cashed in at once to get them all at once.Habs fan and collector! Wow the one seller sold a Desharnais for $150. Could have bought a mid grade 71 OPC Lafleur for that price.

I've got Evander Kane, Dustin Byfuglien, and Dion Phaneuf coming in!
Started buying points when I saw Zetterberg and Howard were still left a week ago (already missed Dekeyser at that point) but my points came in to late (got them Friday). Only Wing left I believe is Kindl and I'll pass on that so picked 3 I believe I can sell. Figure if I can't get a nice PC card out of the program I might as well try and make some money off it and buy a nice PC card.

I was interested in the Cleary but that is gone now too. There is no way with points going for around $20.00-$40.00 for 250 points, that I am going to pay more than that for a Prizm 1/1 for a common player.

If I understand this right, store owners got points for selling Panini products. Those points could be redeemed for a 1/1 (they choose the card from what is available)
I can't pay over $100 for something a dealer got for free.Hidden Content
