    Prizm Ice Blue 1/1s?

Came across an 13-14 Prizm "Ice Blue Prizm" 1/1 but never heard of them. The card in the photo looks like is factory sealed, by Panini, in a card holder.

Any idea where these came from? How they are distributed? How to get one?

    Panini Rewards program.

You can get points randomly inserted in other sports products but not Hockey.

^Click on the Rewards section to be taken to the Rewards store. I found out about these too late and missed the Dekeyser but am considering buying some points on ebay to go after a couple others.

Also gotta love how Panini sneaks out a bunch of 1/1's with no mention of doing so.

Yep. And they all get snatched up by dealers or store owners. Collectors wouldn't be able to get too many with reward points. It really drops the value down on these cards for me. As much as I like 1/1s I wouldn't even count these cards if I were trying to collect every card by a certain players.

To me it's ridiculous to reward dealers for selling their products by enabling them to get first pick of High End rookies that they will try to flip for $1000. $200 for a common player? That's a real middle finger to the actual collector.

Just my opinion. I would pay $25 for any Red Wings player, that's it. I wouldn't be hurt if I did not have it in my collection. The fact that some people bought 50+ of these cards in one go is ridiculous. I wouldn't buy from them. If a collector busted enough boxes to get a few of these and tried selling them I would actually pay a lot more.

    Just my $0.02

I think I'm going to do my best to ignore the fact that these exist. Nothing wrong with Panini offering them (although I wish unreleased hockey products would qualify for the program, which is a great way to get around the redemption problem), but they should have controlled quantities (one per person/account per week, or something like that).

I found out about the thing 2 days ago from Matt, who told me my player was still available. I went on the eBay and won 500 pts for 50 bucks to cover it, of course the seller wouldn't scan me the code, he HAD to mail it he said, and this morning my guy is gone. If I do see it up on eBay for the $200 that the rest of them are "selling" for then I will wish the owner of the card a long and happy relationship with it.

if I'm not mistaken, panini is also selling high end world cup special edition prizm singles directly from their Ebay store from time to time.

Thanks for the link. After searching their list of available cards I only found one of my PC players available. A Totally Certified (red) Competitors Jersey Lindros / Messier for 250 points. I'd have to pay upwards of $15-20 to get 250 points and the Competitors card is selling on for max $5. I am not paying an extra $15 to have it factory sealed. No thanks!

Definitely not paying $200 for the Zubrus card, even if it is a 1/1. The last 1/1 of his sold for $53!

Anyone know if the list they have online is the whole list, or do they update it with new cards from time-to-time?

Looks like points are selling for roughy 10 cents a piece, so the Sedin Prizm Blue 1/1's at 250 pts are roughly 25 dollar cards... no way I'm even bothering to put in an offer to the ebay seller who wants 200 for the Hank, like Ed says he can hang on to it and enjoy it for a long time till the asking price comes down by at least three quarters. Unless there some sort of novelty factor in these being the first set of 1/1's, I can't see them even selling for as much as a regular pack pulled 1/1, but who knows, I could be proved wrong.

I wonder if anyone in the future is going to snag an entire 1/1 set? Some of the big case breakers out there could potentially accumulate gobs of points, and if they hit the site the moment a new set is posted by Panini they might be able to scoop the entire thing if they are fast clickers... gotta imagine someone's gonna try for it at some point.
