Thumbs up 13'14 Panini Select Basketball Box Break *Gold Laker Patch & Gold Pacer Base*

Decided to treat myself to a box break for my birthday and because it's been forever since I last busted a box. Out of all the available products my LCS had I liked this one the most and I'm happy with the break. 2 autos of guy's I never had and 2 patches. Well, there's a slight problem with the second patch as you will see...

Base RCs: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Dwight Buycks, Gorgui Dieng, Vitor Faverani (nice), Archie Goodwin, Tim Hardaway Jr. (My best Knick hit of the box..), Solomon Hill, Sergey Karasev, Alex Len, Ben McLemore, Tony Mitchell, Kelly Olynyk, Otto Porter, Phil Pressey

    Base Prizm RC: Ben McLemore

Insert RCs: Ben McLemore "Draft Selections", Nate Wolters "Red Hot", Michael Carter-Williams "Young Bloods"

    Insert: Ray Allen "Clutch"
Base Prizms: Goran Dragic, Jonas Valanciunas, Danny Granger Purple Prizm #71/99

    Paul George Gold Prizm #9/10

    (back numbering)

Insert Prizms: Jerry West "Clutch", Russell Westbrook "White Hot" Purple Prizm #34/99

Memorabilia Cards: Walter Berry "Select Swatches" Prime Patch Prizm #13/25. THIS is a """prime""" patch? Give me a break, Panini! Thank you for basically screwing me out of 1 of my box hits..

(back numbering and bottom left corner it says "PRIME", what a joke..)

James Worthy "Select Swatches" Prime Patch Gold Prizm #4/10

    (back numbering)

Autographs: Zydrunas Ilgauskas "Franchise Signatures" Purple Prizm #37/60 (My first Big Z auto and it's on-card, nice)

Steve Smith Jersey Autograph (my 1st Smity autograph as well, nice. Too bad it's a sticker though)

And my final thoughts.. I'm happy with the overall break. My only strife is Panini deciding it's okay to put a plain white "patch" on a card and being okay with that but hey, not like it hasn't been done in the past (Upper Deck). But Panini has the license right now so they are subject to my criticism. If the Berry was a jersey card then I'd be okay with it. But when it's marked "PRIME" on the back and it's just a solid white swatch there's a problem. Anyways, the designs are nice and the cards pop. Would I buy another box of this? Possibly. Would I recommend you to buy this? Sure. Until next time...

You broke down and bought a Panini product!

That is a sick box; Select can be real hit or miss (Prizm is a far surer thing), but this is perhaps the best one I've seen. Great pulls especially on the George and Worthy; Ilgauskas isn't too shabby, either.

That prime is definitely annoying, though. Panini mixes up primes and patches already a lot, which is bad enough; at the very least, they could have a second color on there, which I learned is technically what "prime" is.

Sorry, I don't trade or sell.

Yup, guess I'm lucky since it was a birthday break, haha.

Yup, I tapped out and finally gave into temptation, lol. It was for my birthday anyways and it turned out to be a fun break and I was very happy with most of my pulls. Panini's definition of a "patch" is on par with Upper Deck & Topps' it would seem. Sucks it was a Net player too, I hate them. I would've preferred the Berry to be a Hardaway Jr. jersey RC. Panini can have back the Berry #/25 "Prime Patch"! lol

Thank you and it definitely is a shame on the other patch. Panini basically screwing me on 1/4 of my hits. I don't bust football but it's sad to hear the same thing happening in a different sport.

congrats on Gold cards x2 , Happy B-day Gift !!

Thanks, guess I had some birthday luck for sure!
