How do you feel about the US fighting ISIS in Iraq?
Just sort of looking for an open discussion on this. I'm really not sure how I feel about it, personally. It certainly seems like ISIS may be capable of genocide, and the US has been quick to respond to issues like this ever since they sat back and let the Rwandan genocide happen. But are we stretched too thin? How long can you fight a war against an ideal (terrorism) rather than a particular group?

You've been trying to fight a war against an ideal for years now. It's all but proven you can't.

ISIS wouldn't have even been in Iraq, had we not pulled out. We needed to keep a military presence there long term.
Now it's just another terrorist harboring country.

So we should just stay in the countries we invade forever?

Germany and Japan are far different culturally than the Middle East. It hasn't worked in Afghanistan, Korea, Vietnam, etc. We don't have the money to keep troops in Iraq forever. At what point do you just call a loss a loss? We never ever ever should have been there to begin with, so why continue the error?

The Error? So 9/11 was an error to you? There is this thing called The Global War On Terrorism. We are at war and will continue being at war. I know people like to forget that we were attacked by terrorists before we went to war against them.
Benghazi was a terrorist attack as well. So was the Boston Bombing. There also have been plenty of terrorist attacks foiled, and lives have been saved.
Now, for you to say Iraq was an error, then you sir are blind. Saddam Hussien killed thousands of his own people. He was a terrorist. He brought Terror and Killed Innocent Humans.
ISIS are Terrorists. That is why they are being attacked by us.

No. Starting a war in Iraq while the people you were after weren't there was the error. They had little to nothing to do with 911, but telling the people they did was a great way for Cheney to make more money, which is probably why it was necessary and a success in your eyes. Anyone who loves money more than anything else imaginable would see it that way.
