well i dont want the cops walking around all paranoid thinking everyone has a weapon

i just think a pro cop would of handled the situation different like noting, white cop black neighborhood 6'4" 300 and buddy, let call and wait for back up on this one,or something like that

and not go straight to kill

I don't see where you think it went straight to kill. It's not like he rolled up on them and drew his weapon and shot the guy six times. It sounds like Brown put a decent beating on the officer, breaking his eye orbital and trying to get his gun. If he did in fact run off and turn to charge back at the officer when the officer started to give chase I'm not sure what choice he had. I agree that we don't want trigger happy officers, but if they are being beaten and threatened again I'm not sure what would have been the better option at the point where brown came back at him (if that is in fact what happened). It seems to me that the only other option at that point would have been to let Brown get back to him and do whatever he planned to do. I can't fault the officer for assuming brown was coming back to do something very harmful to him.

Here's a thought. Don't jump an officer, or try for his gun, or charge him, or resist arrest..... Maybe that makes too much sense.

There is no evidence that he went straight to kill. Also there are hardly enough cops to go around for every officer to have back-up on every situation. They are trained to handle a situation as individuals and request back-up in extreme cases. From what I have seen this started as the officer confronting a man who was walking in the middle of the street and quickly de-escalated into a bad situation. I don't know all of the details, but I am thinking the cop would have called for back-up as soon as he could since they are trained to do so, but when you have a 6'4" 300 pound man beating the crap out of you and then coming back to take a second turn at you it becomes a survival situation.

Last year, near Camden NJ, two black teenage brothers killed 12 year old Autumn Pasquale in order to steal her new BMX bicycle.

Wonder if there will be protest for this???? I think we got the point.

In Lakewood, Washington, a 20-year-old soldier named Tevin Geike was stabbed to death in a parking lot. According to reports, he was walking along the Pacific Highway SW with two other white soldiers when a group of black men drove by and yelled at the group.

Allegedly, the men driving by were yelling racial slurs, and when one of the soldiers responded, the car turned around. Then, the driver of the vehicle recognized that they were fighting soldiers.
One of the suspects bumped into Geike, and the soldiers saw him fall to the ground. Meanwhile, the car sped away into the distance. Geike bled to death from multiple stab wounds.
“He was already dead in my brother’s arms,” Glenn Zimmerman, a friend of Geike, told reporters.

The group of soldiers had been at a party that night, celebrating the end of Geike’s contract, and honoring his service to his country.
“I don’t understand how someone can do this—that man, he almost gave his life for people to enjoy the freedoms they have and he was just stabbed for no reason,” Zimmerman continued.
Given the racial implications of the incident, investigators are considering whether the killing is classified as a hate crime. In the meantime, Police are searching for the vehicle and the five suspects, all five of whom are black men in their 20s.

And not to beat a dead horse but one more thing

If you’ve been watching cable news, reading Hollywood celebrities’ tweets and listening to race-hustling opportunists, you might think that every police officer in America has a finger on the trigger, hunting for any excuse to gun down defenseless youths. This hysterical nonsense must be stopped.
The Cirque du Cop-Bashing, with Al Sharpton as ringmaster, is working overtime to exploit the deadly incident in Ferguson, Mo. That means stoking anti-law-enforcement fires at all costs.
Are there bad cops? Yes. Does the police state go overboard sometimes? Yes.
Do the demagogues decrying systemic racism and braying about “assassinations” know what happened when teenager Mike Brown was tragically shot and killed last week? No.
Here’s a reality check. While narcissistic liberal journalists and college kids are all posting “Hands Up” selfies in hipster solidarity with Ferguson protesters, it’s law-enforcement officers who risk their lives in “war zones” every day across the country.
The National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund reports that a total of 1,501 law enforcement officers died in the line of duty during the past 10 years, an average of one death every 58 hours or 150 per year.
These include local and state police officers, federal officers, correctional officers and military law enforcement officers.
Fact: Last year, 100 law-enforcement officers were killed. On average, over the past decade, there have been 58,261 assaults against law enforcement each year, resulting in 15,658 injuries.
Fact: New York City has lost more officers in the line of duty than any other department, with 697 deaths. Texas has lost 1,675 officers, more than any other state.
Just this week, the memorial fund released preliminary fatality statistics from August 2013 to August 2014. Total fatalities are up 14 percent, from 63 last year to 72 this year.
“Five officers were killed in ambushes, which continue to be a major threat to law-enforcement safety,” the group notes.
Among the men in uniform who gave their lives this summer:

    •  Police Officer Scott Patrick of the Mendota Heights Police Department in Minnesota. He was shot and killed while conducting a traffic stop on July 30. Patrick leaves behind a wife and two teenage daughters.
    •  Police Officer Jeffrey Westerfield of the Gary Police Department in Indiana. Westerfield was shot in the head and killed in a July 6 ambush while sitting in his police vehicle after responding to a 911 call. The suspect had been previously arrested for domestic violence and for kicking another officer. Westerfield, a 19-year police department veteran as well as an Army veteran, leaves behind a wife and four daughters.
    • Officer Perry Renn of the Indianapolis Police Department. He was shot and killed while responding to reports of gunfire on July 5. After 20 years on the job, Renn chose to serve in one of the city’s most dangerous areas, even though his seniority would have allowed him to take a less dangerous role. “He chose to work in patrol to make a difference in the field,” Police Chief Rick Hite said at Renn’s funeral. “Every day, Perry got out of his police car.” Renn is survived by his wife.
    •  Deputy Sheriff Allen Bares, Jr. of the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office in Louisiana. The 15-year law enforcement veteran was shot and killed on June 23 while investigating two suspicious suspects. Bares had been mowing his lawn while off-duty when he witnessed a suspicious car crash. When he went to investigate, he was gunned down. The assailants stole his truck as he lay dying. “He’s the type of person that would give his shirt off his back to anybody,” a cousin said in tribute. “Anyone that knows Allen will tell you that he was that kind of person.” Bares leaves behind a wife and two children.
    •  Police Officer Melvin Santiago of the Jersey City Police Department in New Jersey. Santiago, a proud rookie cop who loved his job, was ambushed on July 13 by a homicidal armed robber. Santiago was 23 years old. After Santiago’s killer was shot dead by police, the violent Bloods street gang vowed to “kill a Jersey City cop and not stop until the National Guard is called out.” Al Sharpton, concocter of hate-crimes hoaxes and inciter of violent riots against police, had no comment.

The thing is, an, it's these incidents that bring to light problems. This one is a had example, but remember the kid in Toronto? Holding a knife near nobody, made no move to attack, and got shot (presumably) because the cops in question were bored and wanted to finish this. Now he's dead when he obviously needed some help.

I'll agree to a degree (because I don't know much about this case) that this is overblown, BUT it does point out why so many cops do walk around looking for an excuse to pull the trigger. At the end of the day, both sides are terrible because they seemingly hate the other while wanting the same things. I'm only saying this now because you tend to say the same thing every time one of these stories happen. You admit there are bad cops, but you never call any cop bad, regardless of the situation. Again, not saying you're wrong, just that you defending cops has turned into attacking people, much like veggie defending blacks turned to attacking whites or defending atheism turned into attacking religion for alex.

But hey, the best defense is a good offense, right?

Have fun camping we can always agree to disagree.
