do I have variation here ?
I have this Prime Signature Trios of Howe, Lemieux, Messier:
to me it looks like Gordie wrote his #9 behind his signature.
Am I seeing things that are not there ?
here are a couple of others from ebay:

I wouldn't call it a variation of any official kind, just a signature that has the added 9.

exactly - not a variation - but to probably every collector out there somewhat more desirable because of the added number - I know if I collected Howe I would pay a few extra $$ on it as opposed to the others

I was going to say it looks like an "E", that he lifted the pen then wrote the "E".
Has Gordie signed with a 9 before?Hidden Content

I don't know if it is a 9.... it might be that HOWE was written as HOW E.... I would like to think that it is a 9....
I am glad that the Mr. Hockey stuff is gone. I love that he is Mr. Hockey, but companies should shell out to Gordie to use his name (R)
We are so very lucky that he is still alive and with us.
