Shea Stadium Custom Relic Cards
I have wanted to put together some Shea Stadium memorabilia cards for a while now and finally had some time work on it. I have come across some Topps cards with wall in them and wanted to kick it up a notch. I collect Shea memorabilia so this was a lot of fun and not only involved scissors and glue but also power tools. I grew up in Corona NY as a kid and was lucky to have lived there when the Mets won the "86" World Series. Oddly enough I never attended a game there until I was able to drive, which was long after moving out east to LI.
I used a piece of stadium bleacher as well as some signage for the project. I have a few bleacher sections I made into a shelf and bench so figured I could sacrifice one. The sign I had no plans for as there's only so much wall space to take up that says ":ADVANCE".
I am big advocate of the item being MLB Authenticated when possible. I know this process has flaws, but IMHO it's the best out there by far. I designed the card to be a certificate of sorts within itself showing the exact item that was used in the making of the card. I really like the way the cards came out and just wanted to share in the stadiums memory and show them off.
