Gonna be a very dry year for the Devils. Only have Joe Whitney right now who will most likely be a career AHLer. Severson might get a cup of coffee this year but from a hobby perspective won't get any love as a non-flashy defensman. If Wedgewood gets called up as an emergency back up he could have some hobby love as a Canadian goalie but with him being 4th on the depth chart he may be another year away.

In Montreal this year, it looks like Jiri Sekac--their prized European free agent acquisition--is all but a lock to make the team. He impressed everybody at physicals, and has gelled quite nicely with his new teammates. So look for him to get some cardboard this year--probably won't be super high valued like Gallagher/Galchenyuk last year, but maybe a bit higher than Bournival depending on where he settles in the lineup.

That's pretty much it for us. Scherbak has been sent back to his junior club, and I don't think that de la Rose is going to make it out of camp. But he's been decent too.

Now that Beau Bennett is out 4-6 weeks it looks like Kasperi Kapanen will make the team. He will probable sell in the middle of the pack.

Also Derrick Pouliot has a chance to be a mid season call up. Other than that maybe some minor guys but yeah Kapanen should make the team if not I would be shocked

For Ottawa you may see Curtis Lazar for the start of the season.

I am looking for Landon Ferraro in Detroit and a much stronger year for Darcy Kuemper in Minnesota... and perhaps a rookie preview for Conner Bleackley (Colorado) and Haydn Fleury (Carolina)... but I am the Rebels geek! I wish I had the same feeling for Mathew Dumba (Minnesota) and John Persson (NY Islanders), but I think both players might be due for another 12 game NHL season.

islanders rookies look solid- kevin czuczman(signed outta college last year plays pretty solid D), johan sundstrom, mike halmo (an islander fan favorite kid plays with heart) and also the preseason looks promising for griffin reinhart and ryan pulock 2 top rated defense prospects. if they both make the squad even if its just one it will be solid. im excited for this year

I'm really curious about Sekac. So many people are saying good things about him.

The kid looks really confident...strong with the puck. He is a little older (22 I believe) and the 3 years he played in the KHL did him good.
