**Stolen Card*** Crosby 06-07 SOTT
Hey everyone I bought this card for $70 and had $25 Ebay Bucks so I got it for $45 and was super happy. I get it today and open it up and I find this.
I was shocked and as you can see there is no card in the toploader. Looking at the package its obvious someone stole it. There are 3 slices of scotch tape (Left side, Middle, and Right Side) on the flap of the envelope. I cut the top off and I can clearly see that it was ripped open. The package was insured too which is a good thing for the seller.
This disgust me. I Feel bad for the seller.
Here is the card and auction I won:

My question is I contacted the seller already. How do I go about getting my money back?Flickr: Hidden Content

I had this happen to me with a comic book order. Except I received not sorry note. I actually saw the mail lady get out the vehicle and deliver my package that was empty and slit open and then just put it on my doorstep and leave. I had my baby daughter and didn't think much and was happy to see it comes in. But when I went to get it..it was open on the top with a box cutter slip and empty! I was furious! I feel your pain man!

I dont get why someone would steal a random card like that? i know that those that work in postal are collecting hockey cards but still how dumb can you get? if i was to steal a package i would thrown the rest in the trash can and not leave it like that...
And why steal a low value card i also dont get... not like the thief is gonna get rich on that.
But is there a possibility he didnt seal the envelope proper and that it somehow got open or so during transportation ?

Nah, that was stolen, no question. To answer the OP's question, the seller should just refund the money to you and you'll get it back. if they're difficult and won't, you open a case through paypal.

Damn, This sucks... I hope you get your money back.
A very similar situation happened to me before. Canada Post put a envelope covering a box of cards that I bought, and we could read a very similar text saying that Canada Post care for us and they apologize for the issue, bla bla bla, saying that the item was damaged during transportation.
I opened the box and everything was fine. It was just the box covered by some oil, but fortunately, nothing was damaged. I had to throw away the box.

Its such a shame this stuff happens. Good thing everything was fine.
** Update**
The seller refunded my money last night. He was very understanding and was very easy to work with. He was very upset someone stole the card and went straight to the PO to file a claim. I hope he also gets his money back and I told him if he needs any help with anything Ill gladly help.

Those are the rules on ebay, if you dont get your item you bought you have like 99% chance to get your money back, even if the card was sent like a regular letter it doesnt matter. I have gotten my money back 1 time for a card that never arrived during all years ive been buying on ebay.

Technically the buyer and seller are both out the card .. the buyer gets a refund from seller and seller should get a refund from postal company if insured
