44 Minute games?

I personally don't like this, It's not like games are all that long expect the last 2-3 minutes.

I think the timeouts are more of a problem and good to see they're testing that too.

Making the game 44 minutes will do nothing to improve interest or watchability of the NBA. I mean did they do a focus group and people actually said if the games were 44 minutes they'd watch more of it or something?

This is about as pointless as when they tried using 11-foot baskets to stop George Mikan from being taller than everyone else.

It won't shorten games. They are trying to find more space for advertisements.

Are they really this desperate for ad money? I mean there was talk of them putting ads on their jerseys but I don't really see the motivation for it unless they are struggling for cash.

I think it's more greed than desperation. That new tv deal is huge but everything is basically ad driven.
