Collecting after a 25yr break

I have recently started to collect Football cards again, it's been 25 years since I have done this. I just picked up a box at a local store and continued to buy that brand and year so I'm heavy with 2013 Topps Chrome and some 2014 Prestige, I buy two packages of the Prestige with the Chrome. I don't have experience but love the idea of completing a set and moving on to another year. Any suggestions are welcome since I'm sure the collective has a lot more knowledge than I do. I'd be interested to see what way people buy, i.e. online or local, and why they buy certain brands. Hopefully this is the start of a great trading experience.

Thanks, the last card I can remember buying is a Drew Bledsoe rookie card, before that I was always trying to add to the collection. Not sure what happened to that collection but it was a long time ago.

Welcome back to collecting & to SCF! I buy online as there is no local card shops near where I live. Baseball collector here so the brands I buy box & pack wise is Topps & Bowman since those are the only licensed products by the MLB. I do buy the brands but mostly singles & from 2010 & earlier. As far as building sets I have no experience in that but my advice to you is make sure you have patience as I'm sure it takes time to track down all cards for the certain set.
