Stadium Club goes back to its roots a bit. After the debacle of being released as a high-end product recently, Topps has resurfaced with Stadium Club in a mid-level price point. However, with a deep list of signature subjects, the possible combinations have caused a decent price drop over the last couple of weeks. What does set Stadium Club apart from most products is the full-length, stunning photos used on the cards. There's a great mix of legends (including some in black and white), veterans and rookies. Though the cards are not as thick, nor foil based as they were back in the 90s, Stadium Club is great for collectors. In-person autograph seekers will love getting these signed. There are five parallel levels, including one that appears once per case, though unnumbered.
Base Parallels:
(odds per mini box, italics denotes numbered)
Rainbow Foil 1:1
Gold Foil 1:3
Electric 1:9
Foilboard 1:11
Members Only 1:36
There are a few insert/chase sets. Sadly, most are die cut based which goes along with Topps' recent affinity for the machine. Outside of Field Access, the designs are outstanding and eye-catching. There is a nice blend of chrome and foil within the designs and make these highly collectible. The most interesting has to be Triumvirates. Three cards combine to make one larger card, so there are 30 subjects/individual cards, but 10 full cards overall. In addition, there are three levels for each card. Of all the inserts sets, only Beam Team has an autograph version.
Beam Team 1:3, Gold 1:36, Autograph 1:729
Field Access 1:1, Rainbow Foil 1:23, Gold 1:44, Electric 1:88
Future Stars Die Cut 1:3, Gold 1:218
Legends Die Cut 1:3, Gold 1:218
Triumvirates:
Luminous 1:3, Luminescent 1:12, Illuminator 1:36
Each mini box will yield 1 autograph, so 3 total for each master box. A huge bright spot is the use of on-card autographs. Low spot as previously mentioned is the long list of signers. Outside of the base signatures, look for duals and special buybacks from 1991.
Base Autographs 1:1, Rainbow Foil 1:18, Gold 1:30, Electric 1:749
Co-Signers Dual Autographs 1:1,090
Lone Star Signatures 1:219, Gold 1:546, Electric 1:5,460
1991 Buybacks Autographs 1:1,090
FINAL THOUGHTS
